After reports broke out in the Spanish press suggesting that Egyptian superstar, Mohammed Salah has been offered to Barcelona, his agent, Ramy Abbas has denied such reports. The 25-year-old winger was sensational for Liverpool last season, scoring 44 goals and leading his team to the Champions League final. Spanish publication, AS had reported that Barcelona are looking to sign the player, as talks with Atletico Madrid continue to stall over the transfer of French striker, Antoine Griezmann.
They claimed that Salah’s representatives were in talks with the Camp Nou outfit and that negotiations would commence shortly. His agent, Abbas took to popular social media platform, Twitter to debunk such rumors by saying, “This never happened. @English_AS you need better sources”. Salah is currently preparing for the World Cup with Egypt, but he faces a race against time to be fit for The Pharaohs first game against Uruguay on June 15.
The attacker suffered a nasty shoulder injury in the Champions League final against Real Madrid last month after being fouled by Sergio Ramos but is still expected to play a part at this summer’s tournament. Salah stunned the football world with his displays for Liverpool, scoring 44 goals and creating a further 14 in 52 matches, which represented a brilliant first season with the English giants. He is a pacy attacker that can play anywhere across the final third.
He has earned plaudits for his positional awareness, dribbling, and finishing. If he joins Barcelona, he will form a brilliant trident with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
