The London club have reportedly shown interest in the acquiring of the Getafe’s central defender Djene. Unai Emery despite the acquisition of defensive options such as Greek international Sokratis Papastashopoulos and Swiss full back Stephen Lichsteiner, have been linked with the Togo international as he strengthen his squad ahead of the new league season kicking off by August.
According Media platform Foot Mercato, the North London remains at the frontrunner in the chase for the Togolese international who wants an exit from the Madrid based football club after an impressive display in the season prior.
Tottenham currently top the list as favorites to land the central defender despite interest from Spanish club Athletico Madrid, big spender West ham and Leicester city but The Gunners could match the player’s demands with their huge budget.
Despite all the interest, the Madrid based club who have been monitoring the events are said to have reported place a price tag on him. A source confirmed that any club that wants to sign the 25yr old defender would bring amount of money in the region of €35m to acquire him.
“We know that Djené wants to leave the club, but for us, he will leave at the right price, that is to say at least 35 M €. After his season, there are many European clubs that want it but we will not do anything.”
