Arsenal have currently shifted to a loan deal for Andre Gomez, after to failing to meet up with Barcelona’s demands. The Portuguese player who was omitted from the recent world cup squad, has struggled at the Camp since his big money move from Valencia 2 years ago.
Having been left of the clubs pre-season games, it’s almost certain that Andre Gomez will leave the club. The Portuguese midfielder have been linked to host teams in Europe with Tottenham hotspur, reigning Seria A champions Juventus as well as Chelsea all vying for his signature.
However Spanish Media claims that Gomez prefers a move to the Emirates stadium. According to reliable media outfit RAC 1, The Portuguese have set his eyes on the Emirates stadium as his preferred transfer destination, amidst speculations linking him last week to the White hart lane.
Arsenal have also reciprocated the gestures of the player, but have failed in the bid to secure his services with Don Balon reporting that the two clubs are at loggerheads on the player’s transfer fee. According to Dailystar.co.uk, the North London based club could only muster £20m out of the Barcelona’s £31M asking price for the player, but a compromise could be reached with a season long loan with obligation to buy in the next summer as proposition.
Gomez’s potential arrival at the Emirates hasn’t be received by the club faithful, as many desire French midfielder Steven Nzonzi ahead him. However the move could be what he need to rediscover himself, as the North London club present a level ground for development. Ernesto Velverde tactical change from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2 formation last season seems to have heavily affected the midfielder who have played out of position on several occasions.
