Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has question the quality of Chelsea shot-stopper Kepa following below par outing against Tottenham hotspur. Prior to the defeat, the Blues were the only side to remain unbeaten in the Europe’s top five league.

But defeat to Spurs has pushed Chelsea down the league table to fourth place as Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham occupy the top three spots.

And World record fee goalkeeper Kepa was partly blamed for the loss. The former Athletic Bilbao goalie failed to prevent all three goals, with Kepa allowing the Dele Alli’s goal to slip through his grasp.

Carragher on Monday Night football has questioned the quality of the Spanish goalkeeper to Real Madrid keeper Thaibaut Courtois. Courtois left Chelsea for Real Madrid last summer, though struggling for form.

Carragher is of the opinion that Chelsea have become weaker without the Belgian international despite the popularity of Kepa.

“If I’m being honest I think Courtois saves that,” he said when asked about Dele’s opening goal against the Blues.

The England international rose above Jorginho to head home the ball after Christian Eriksen sent in a free-kick in the eighth minute. According to Carragher, Kepa should have done better.

“I don’t want to keep coming back because he’s a new ‘keeper, a young ‘keeper, but I think in the past that’s saved by Courtois.”

Chelsea will now have to consolidate on a top four finish, as seven points separate the London club from league leaders. Chelsea will be hoping to return to winning ways when Greek side Paok visit the Bridge.
