According to reports from Italy, Chelsea seems to have made a £40m bid for Juve’s Mattia Caldara, as they try to acquire him before the close of transfer window. Chelsea which have been linked with Juve’s Rugani and Higuain is reportedly shifting attention to defender Caldara.
Italian media outlet, Corriere della Sera was recently quoted by Football Italia to have linked Chelsea with a bid for the 24yr old defender. The club which recently had its Rugani bid turned down,have shifted attention to the Caldara as Sarri tries to bolster his defense lines ahead of the new league season.
Chelsea have already shown interest in landing Argentine center-forward Gonzalo Higuain from the Turin club, but the deal seems to have hit the skids.
The same report affirmed that the old lady will only allow amount in the region of €50 Million for the 24yr old central defender.
Chelsea have so far have made two acquisition in the current transfer window despite being linked with a host of players in the continent.
The London based club is hoping to challenge rivals for the Premier league and top four spots when the league resumes after finishing in 5th position last season.
Chelsea have signed Jorginho and Green so far in the summer, as they try to rejuvenate their squad ahead of their 2018/2019 campaign season which will begin with a community shield game against Manchester City by August.
