Oliver Giroud confirmed that Chelsea is the ideal club for him after completing a deadline day switch from Arsenal. The French Centre forward who signed a year and half deal with London outfit is relishing a chance to play a role in the Champions league knockout tie against Barcelona later in the month of February. The 31-year old was in the stands as Chelsea team without a recognized Centre forward where humbled 3-0 by Bournemouth side and is likely to see plenty of action in coming weeks with Alvaro Morata still nursing his back injury.

The Frenchman also sighted sporting challenges and opportunities as his top priority for joining the London outfit. Giroud will be eligible to feature for the blues in their two-legged champions league tie against Barcelona the Spanish team yet to test defeat in the Spanish Primera division. The match kicks off on February 20 and the Frenchman will be hoping to add to his goals in European competition current as he previously netted three times for arsenal in the Europa league last year. “Champions League is a massive for a football player” said Giroud who signed for arsenal back in 2012 “There is nothing above it when playing for a club”.
