Third placed Chelsea have lined up moves to acquire a new hit man as the club plans to take its through ambition to the next level. The London club are reported to be serious about fighting for the Premier League and will likely provide funds to Maurizio Sarri to make the necessary signing.
Alvaro Morata performance against Manchester United last weekend was not good enough according to some sections from the media, and this have been the catalyst for the clubs desire to land a new centre-forward by January. The Spaniard who has netted three times in the current season, has failed to live up to expectation since his arrival Real Madrid in the summer of 2017.
Daily Mail reports that Mario Icardi and Kryzstof Piatek tops Chelsea’s wishlist for centre-forward options.
Icardi needs no introduction as he won the highest goal scorer of the 2017/2018 league season in the Italian top flight division, netting 29 times. The Inter Milan striker currently has a transfer fee in the region of £97.5 million, though the Italian club are looking at improving the deal.
The Inter Milan striker also receives praise from for three lions boss Fabio Capello, who had asked Spanish side Real Madrid to acquire him last summer.
Piatek becomes another strong alternative for the blues, after completing moves from Cracovia to Genoa. The Polish centre-forward has enjoyed superb run of form in the current season, and this have placed him on the wishlist of major clubs in the continent.
There is no doubt that Sarri will not add a quality centre-forward to Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata, but in the event the Blues fails to land the Seria A based duo, Sarri could seek solutions with Dybala, Werner and Mitrovic.
