Chelsea are planning a life without their star midfielder N’Golo Kante with their eyes set on luring highly rated Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombélé as his replacement with Paris Saint Germain lurking around to snap the Chelsea midfielder. The story has it that the France under-21 is seen by Chelsea to have a like-to-like pattern of play with Kante.

The news according to website Goal is claiming that the Blues have shown a strong interest in signing the 21-year-old midfielder this summer and they could make a move to land him if Kante ends up leaving Stamford Bridge, as Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are said to be targeting him.

Chelsea are said to have prepared a sum in the region of £22m for Ndombélé should incase they lose out on the former Leicester man. Meanwhile according to another report that Chelsea have placed a whopping £100m on Kante to deter PSG from coming for his signature, but it’s believed that the Ligue 1 Champions are ready to meet up with Chelsea’s demand.

Meanwhile, the French midfielder Ndombele has also been attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, but the Blues could be set to make a move if Kante ends up leaving Stamford Bridge.

The French youngster, who began his senior career with Amiens, joined Lyon on an initial one year loan deal last summer, with an option to sign him permanently. He has in 47 appearances netted one goal with eight assists for Lyon last season. He has also represented France under-21 side in nine outings.

The Blues are yet to officially announce any new signings this summer, having finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season and missing out on Champions League qualification. Chelsea will be looking to build a squad capable of breaking back into the top four next season under whoever becomes their manager.
