The Red Devils suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat to league leaders Manchester City at Etihad stadium last traditional Manchester derby. Jose Mourinho adopted a his iconic defensive style of football in a bid to contain Pep Guardiola’s high scoring Manchester City team, but they were blown away.
Prior to the derby Manchester City has already demonstrated their intent to crush their neighbors Manchester United with the Etihad based team scoring 12 goals in 2 consecutive games. Manchester United on the other hand came from behind to win both Bournemouth and Juventus with both winning goals coming very late.
However Former Chelsea player Chris Sutton expressed his disgust at Jose Mourinho in his reaction to the result. He in his statement described Jose Mourinho as a “cry baby”.
“United were outclassed,” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live. “It was like watching Manchester versus Manchester reserves. “There is an enormous gap between them and City, and things aren’t going to change unless they change the manager. “What was most galling for me were Mourinho’s comments after the game – kicking off, behaving like a big baby. When is it going to stop?”
Manchester United is almost out of the title race but could still push on for a top four finish, beginning with the hosting of Crystal Palace after the international break.
