Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut for the Old Lady last weekend on the road at Chievo. Though the Portuguese was not on the score-sheet, his overall stats in the game spoke for itself. The Portuguese who joined Juventus after ending his 9yr spell at the Spanish capital, failed to appear in the club’s official launching of their away kit. However his omission was explained by Express Sport.

According to Express sport, the simple reason for his omission from the club’s kit launch was that the Adidas company plans launching of products long before hand and the pictures of the kits might have been taken prior to his arrival. It understood that the photo-shoot might have been taken 6 months back.

Ronaldo who was pictured holding the jersey during his interview with club TV, already has a contract with Nike and this makes using him by Adidas difficult. Ronaldo is one of Nike’s top athlete and his sponsorship deals with the U.S Company from appearing alone in Adidas’ promotional shots.

At least three to five player must be with him, as in the case of Juve’s official website, for him to feature in any picture with any future Adidas kit release. The decision for Dybala, Cuadrado and Pjanic to figure so prominently is driven by the fact they are all Adidas athletes.Adidas can therefore utilise the Juventus trio as much as they want without facing any claims from rival manufacturers.
