Memphis Depay came from the bench to steal the show as Lyon claimed a last minute winner against 10-Man Paris Saint German (PSG) in the ligue 1 clash after Kurzawa cancelled Fekir Opener earlier in the game. Lyon coming into this game where in high confidence after boasting four wins in their last five games in all competition with Genesio’s men beating Guigamp 2-0 in their last league game. PSG where on an Eight-Match winning streak and came into this game with high morale after 8-0 demolishing of Dijon. Genesio makes no changes to his team coming into the game while Emery brought in Dani Alves, Layvin Kurzawa. Adrien Rabiot, Kylian Mbappe for Yuri, Thomas Meunier, Julian Draxler and Neymer.
The hosts started to attack early and were rewarded with their effort thanks to a stunner from Fekir with the Midfielder’s 30 yard culler beating out of position Alphonse Areola. Things got from bad to worse for PSG as Mbappe was stretched out of the pitch on the 36th minute and was replaced with Julian Draxler forcing Emery to change his tactics. PSG finally got their equaliser before the interval thanks to a powerful volley from Kurzawa from a Daniel Alves cross. The second half began with a hot tempo atmosphere at the early minutes which lead to a sending off Dani Alves with the Brazilian given his marching orders before the hour maker for screaming at the referee. Memphis Depay was brought on with 20 minutes as Genesio pushed for an all-out attack against a PSG side desperate to grind out a draw from the match. PSG however where able to keep the host at bay until a last minute winner from Depay with the former Manchester united man turning 2 PSG men at the edge of the box before rifling the ball into the top corner to send the Supporters going wide. Fekir capped off a fine outing with an assist for the Depay’s strike.
The winner takes third Lyon place to Eight Point of PSG as Genesio can dream. It also blows open the title race as Monaco can keep on.
