The Chelsea forward Eden Hazard, who inspired his Country to third place finish at the World Cup has hinted that it may be time to ‘discover something different’, as Belgium clinched the Bronze medal after beating England 2-0 on Saturday.
The Belgium Captain seems to have opened up about leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid to replace Cristaino Ronaldo.
The new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri will do he can to persuade Eden Hazard to stay, who claimed that his impressive performances at the World cup is suppose to win him the tournament best player and also the opportunity to decide where he wants to ply his trade.
Eden Hazard finished the tournament on a high as he scored his country’s last goal of the campaign, netting the second goal as they won England 2-0; he scored a total of 3goals and 2 assists for Belgium.
The 27-year-old told reporters when quizzed on his club future, Hazard said that they already know his choice of club, as it was hinted that he would be replacing the five time Ballon D’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo at Madrid.
Hazard said, (After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different, certainly, after this World Cup, I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will have the final decision. You know my preferred destination).
The Chelsea winger was given a free role behind their star striker Lukaku by Roberto Martinez, as he inspired his National team both with his pace and dribbling abilities.
However, this World cup outing has been the best Belgium has reached so far after their last forth finish, but Hazard claimed that the golden ball should be given to him after he led Belgium to third place win.
Based on his chances of securing the Golden ball, he said (Deserving it… well, it would be showing off to say I deserve it but yes, I do think I deserve it with my performances in the matches, but there are other players in the World Cup, some who will play the final tomorrow, so it is not really important for me. If I get it I will be very happy and if I don’t get it I will be happy with the World Cup we have played).
Notwithstanding, It’s yet to be seen if Sarri and Chelsea will lose Hazard to Real Madrid without a fight.
