Manchester United have considered FC Porto’s defender Eder Militao with the Red Devils not willing to lay all their eggs in one basket.
The Manchester club were linked with a host of defenders last summer with Yerry Mina, Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld topping the list but club management refused to approved the deal with Ed Woodward vetoing all offers.
The Old Trafford club have linked heavily in landing a defender from the Seria A with Kalidou Koulibaly, Manolas and Skriniar as the Manchester club seeks to strengthen her backline.
However, according to reports from Portugal, Porto have reportedly tagged Militao’s transfer fee at £68 million in response to an inquiry made by the Red Devils.
According to Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, Manchester United’s interest comes after the young defender impressed in the UEFA Champions’ league group stages.
The report indicates that United will have to part with a hefty sum to land the 20-year-old, however, with that quoted figure required on his release contract.
It remains to be said whether the Portuguese based football outfit will allow their key player depart in the January window.
Militao is also rumored to be under Real Madrid radar, while Liverpool considers the player considering their current injury crises
