Massimiliano Allegri believes that the introduction of Fellaini in the game was the catalyst for Manchester United victory at Turin.

Juventus were meant to pay for their wasteful nature in the game, as Manchester United scored twice in a space of four minutes to steal an unlikely 2-1 victory in Turin. Ronaldo drew first blood in the game after attempts from Khedira and Dybala were denied by the bar. Substitute Juan Mata levelled the game for the visiting team with a set-piece while an own goal from Alex Sandro was enough.

The comeback began as Mourinho introduced Fellaini in the game, and Allegri is of the opinion that the strategic introduction of the Belgian was the catalyst for the twist of fate.

“In the first game, they didn’t have Fellaini and we used his absence to our advantage,” Allegri told a news conference. “Tonight, he played and his physical presence was immediately felt. He controlled some high balls, although sometimes we were good at playing the ball on the ground. “Conceding those free-kicks was our greatest mistake. That happened and we paid the price. “We’ll have to learn from that.”

Juventus remain top of the group with nine points, Manchester United with seven points while Valencia with five points. The Red Devils could qualify if things go their way in the next round of games.
