World Football governing body FIFA, have welcomed the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr Amaju Pinnick back to the fold of its elite football community, following his re-election as NFF President in the election held at Kastina state on the 20th of September. This has been a traditional approach deployed by FIFA for committee members which are elected or re-elected into position in their respective country’s FA or confederation.
At the meeting with one of FIFA’s most influential panels in Zurich, Switzerland on Monday (Organizing committee for FIFA competitions, of which Pinnick is a member), The NFF boss was congratulated by the President of the World football governing body, Gianni Infantino.
It would recalled that despite the last-minute attempt to halt the election by the Minister of Youths and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung, overwhelming majority of stakeholders of the Nigerian football congress still made it to Kastina state to endorse Amaju Pinnick for another four years at the helm of affairs.
On Sunday, September 30 the NFF boss was formally inaugurated as the First Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football, taking his place beside CAF President, Ahmad in the 12th CAF Extra-Ordinary General Assembly in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
