Chelsea defender Garry Cahill is ready to leave the club by January according to the Sun. The 32yr old is yet to feature for the Blues in the current season under new boss Maurizio Sarri. The Italian decision to switch to a back four in defense meant that only two players could feature in the defense.
In the current team, Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz seems to be getting the nod ahead of the Englishman.
According to reports, Garry Cahill and Christensen are viewed as backup options with Ethan Ampadu also expected to impress. Reports also have it that Cahill is open to a switch to another club and is hopeful that Chelsea won’t block any potential deal.
Garry Cahill is currently in the last year of his Blues contract and could potentially depart on Bosman terms next summer if the London club fails to extend his stay. Chelsea is expected to cash in on the player in the January window while the still have a claim on him according to media. The departure of Garry Cahill will mean that one of on loan defenders Christensen and Kurt Zouma might return early to the Bridge.
Garry Cahill have been excellent in his 6 year with the club. The former Bolton centre back played a critical role in 2012 Champions league and 2013 Europa league success of the London club. Garry Cahill have also been present in the Blues trophy success of 2017 and 2015.
