Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze has been rewarded with a contract extension offer from club side Villarreal with clubs seeking his services.
The Super Eagles’ newbie have been superb in his first full season in the Spanish topflight division with strings of performance, and club side Villarreal has acknowledged his contributions with move for longer deal.
According to reports from the media, the Spanish club have opened talks with Chukwueze over an improved terms of agreement in a bid to wade off heavily interest from their Superb winger.
The 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner have been on the radar of Madrid based football outfit Athletico as well as a couple of team from the English Premier League.
Chukwueze who according to reports is valued at €40 million, has continued to justify his prize fee at the Spanish club despite the managerial shift which led to the axing of his breakthrough tactician Javi Calleja.
After getting his debut in September, the youngster has grown from the game, such that Athletico Madrid has considered approaching him when the transfer window opens in January. The winger also capped his appearance for Nigeria in a friendly against Uganda
Though identity of the English club vying for his services are yet to be known, recent report has it that Arsenal and Leicester City are suspected based on their involvement with the player prior to his move to the Yellow Submarine.
