Marcelo Lippi has lent his opinion on Ronaldo’s move to Juventus following the state of the Old Lady in the current football season.

Ronaldo ended his 9 years’ time at the Spanish capital to join the Turin based club in a big money move last summer. The Portuguese on his arrival to the Italian league struggled to open his account for the Old lady in their opening league games, but the forward has now scored seven time in 12 games to ensure that the Italian club maintain a near perfect stats in the current football season.

Marcelo Lippi observing the team’s performance in the current season believes that Ronaldo’s arrival was at the right time, citing that the player would have found it difficult to adapt had the Old Lady acquired him three years ago.

Juventus signed him at the right time,” Lippi told Italian newspaper Courier Dello Sport”. “His impact is unbelievable”. “If the Bianconeri had signed him three years ago, he would’ve had a much less impact than now.”

Ronaldo is currently in contention for the Balon D’or award after helping to propel former employers Real Madrid to a third consecutive UEFA Champions league trophy before his departure. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player aware of the demands for the accolade has revealed his chances as well as possible names that will compete with him for the individual trophy.

“Of course I want to win, this sixth Ballon d’Or,” he said. “It would be a lie to tell you the opposite”. “The same as usual [could win it], even if I don’t know if Messi will be on the podium this time. “So, let’s say Salah, Modric, Griezmann, Varane, Mbappe – the French in general because they are world champions”. “But I will wait and see if all these players are still at the top in 10 years, like Messi and I have done, and like we continue to do”. “Still there, on the podium, since more than 10 years.”
