Enyimba on Sunday suffered a second straight defeat to exit the Aiteo Cup after Kano Pillars. The People’s Elephant of Aba which lost at home to Morocco side Raja Casablanca in the CAF Confederation cup, failed to shake off the hangover in Gombe as Kano Pillar edged the side in a 6 goal thriller.

Enyimba drew first blood 10 minutes into the game with Stephen Chukwudi, but the Sai Masu Gida levelled the game 9 minutes before the break through Rabiu Ali.

Kano Pillars grabbed the lead seven minutes after the break through home-based Eagles defender Chris Madaki. Chris Nweke made the game safe for the Pillar at the hour mark while Nyima Nwagua made it four as the game progressed with the Kano state club showing their superiority on the pitch. Enyimba could only grab a consolation goal late on in the game from Sunday Adetunji who scored from the spot late on in the game.

Kano Pillars triumphed 4-2 at the end of 90 minutes and are set to face Kastina in the semi-finals of the competition at Agege Stadium soccer temple in Lagos.

Kastina united eliminated Kwara united 3-1 in the quarter-final game at Agege stadium last Wednesday.

Former Champions Enugu Rangers and Nassarawa United will lurk horns in the other semi-final fixture at Sani Abacha stadium in Kano.
