The Libyan football federation has agreed on the shift in the date for the 2019 African Cup of Nation qualifying round of games which is billed for early October, though the Confederation of African Football is yet to agree on the matter.
The North African Country has decided to play the Super Eagles on the 13th and 16th of October for both first leg and reverse fixtures. The Match which was scheduled to host at Godswill Akpabio stadium could also be played in Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna.
Mohammed Sanusi in an interview with media said: “We have officially communicated our position to CAF as regards shifting the game from Saturday to Friday”. “We are baffled by the decision”. “It is the prerogative of the host nation to decide the day they want to play their match, even as we await whatever explanation that CAF will be giving to us.”
Nigeria currently occupies the third place in the Group E with just three points after two qualifying round of games. The Super Eagles lost to South Africa 2-0 last year but brought their aspiration back to life early in September by defeating Seychelles 3-0.
