Claude Makalele believes that it would be difficult for Sarri to win the league in his first season, but have backed the Italian tactician to make historic moments at the Bridge.
Sarri joined the London club from Italian side Napoli as a replacement for another Italian tactician in the person of Antonio Conte, and his philosophy seems to have been grasped by the Blues as they began the league season in a flawless manner.
Chelsea have defeated Huddersfield, Arsenal, Newcastle and Bournemouth to be among the few side still enjoying a 100 percent unbeaten run the England top flight division.
While dethroning champions Manchester City could be difficult, Makalele believes that the Italian has what it takes to achieve big things at the Bridge.
“I think Chelsea changed a lot,” Makelele told reporters. “Before now you have a lot of teams in the Premier League, its competitive”.
“Manchester City, Manchester United, and also the smaller teams have good players. So it’s going to be difficult for them to win the Premier League. I’m confident”.
“He [Sarri] still has good players, [Eden] Hazard is there, and [N’Golo] Kante is there. These kinds of players give a different story about Chelsea than the way we knew Chelsea before”.
“I think he has the capacity to make history for Chelsea again.”
Chelsea will take on Cardiff city at the Bridge in the Premier league after the International break elapses.
