The Red Devils have Reportedly submitted a bid for Real Madrid starlet Marco Asensio. Asensio is said to be frustrated with his lack of playing time this season. According to Spanish media sources Manchester United is monitoring the 21 year old attacker with a view to bring the player to Old Trafford this season. Asensio is highly rated by Mourinho who believes the Spanish winger can lead the charge in a late challenge for the league title.
Asensio has regularly been linked with a move away from the Spanish giants with Chelsea, Liverpool and PSG touted as possible destinations. The Red Devils have tabled a fee as they look to prize away the highly rated winger, A fee of about 40million is being offered including adds on. Manchester United believe they can double the player’s wages and secure his services this January.
According to Don balon Mourinho wants to sign a younger player and is not interested in Welsh winger Gareth Bale despite the player being heavily linked to the Old Trafford outfit.
Asensio could be a good signing for Manutd as although he has the talent as seen with his wonderful goals, it remains to be seen if he can perform consistently through a season. Mourinho does not have a track record of improving youngsters. it would be interesting to see how he fits into a united team with many players in his position.
Asensio has struggled to get playing time despite a bright start to the season. The Spanish winger has started just nine league matches this season contributing a respectable four goals and three assists.
