Maurizio Sarri in his press conference has described Spaniard Alvaro Morata as a fragile forward after he netted brace as Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 at the Bridge on Sunday.

Alvaro Morata missed a huge chance to bag a hat-trick in the game as he missed a host of chances. The Spaniard ended up settling for brace in the encounter as his fragility in-front of goal was still there.

This according to Sarri was due to the fact that the former Real Madrid and Juventus forward was always thinking about scoring.

Sarri on Morata, says he’s fragile: “He has to play for his team-mates without thinking of the goal. The goal is the consequence of the performance. He is a little bit fragile from the mental point of view but he’s very young, I think. He can improve very fast.”

Despite Sarri’s jibe, media correspondent believes that Morata is fast becoming the forward Sarri had wished him to be. Chelsea have lacked a prolific hitman in the mood of Drogba and Costa, but the performance of Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro has reduced the demand as players turn on in style for the Blues.

Sarri on Morata: “I think so, Alvaro improved in the last month. Improved for the confidence and personality, I think. Also improved from a technical point of view. Now he is able to play more with the team. Alvaro has great physical and technical potential.”

Chelsea prepare for their reverse fixture against Bate Borisov in the Europa league knowing that a victory would give them outright progression to the round of 32 of the European second tier competition.
