Jose Mourinho has expressed his desire for Anthony Martial to remain with the Red Devils. This is coming barely few months after the Portuguese was keen on offloading the France international.

The former Monaco star was considered to be used as a player plus cash offer to land Croatian attacker Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan, but his recent surge in form have prompted a change of heart from the Portuguese tactician.

Despiter recently rebuffing a deal, the Frenchman desires to remain at the theatre of dreams.

In the club’s Friday press conference ahead of the Saturday’s visit to Bournemouth, Mourinho expressed his desire for the youngster to commit his future to the Red Devils.

“I don’t belong to the discussions of contracts,” Mourinho said. “I’m not participating in these kinds of discussions. Obviously I hope they will agree.

“Obviously I would like him to stay. I know the club wants him very much to stay. Hopefully he is going to stay.”

Martial has scored four goals in his last three league game for the Manchester club, and this has earned him praise from the media as well as from his teammate with Nemanja Matic stating that he is yet to reach his peak in the England top flight division.

“One thing is that he’s a talented player that everybody knows he is. Everybody knows since he was in Monaco that he is a talented player,” Mourinho said.

“Another thing is a talented player with consistency and understanding what a football match is in the global screens. When you reach that level, or when you are almost reaching that level, is when you become a top player.

“One thing is a top talent, another is a top player. He is now much closer to being a top player.”
