According to reports from Italy, Napoli is interested in snapping Davide Zappercosta on loan terms from Chelsea.

The Italian full-back has struggled to break into Chelsea’s starting lineup since his arrival from Italy in the summer of 2017. The Player under Antonio Conte was unable to replace Victor Moses in Chelsea’s first eleven despite having all the clouts of a wingback.

The 26yr old has not found things easy under Maurizio Sarri as the Italian tactician clearly favours Spanish fullback Caesar Azplicueta in the position. Zappercosta under Sarri has featured three times, with two coming in the Europa league. With the 26yr old unlikely to threaten Azpilicueta, Italian Publication Mattino II (via Sport Witness) believes the play will find pastures elsewhere with Napoli lurking around. Napoli believes that Zappercosta coukd hold the key to their defensive problems.

A potential for Zappercosta from Napoli, could provide Chelsea with the desired chance to move for Elseid Hysaj who is currently in the club’s wishlist. The Albanian fullback was linked with a move to Chelsea last summer but Napoli president De Laurentis vetoed the move following the departure of Sarri to Chelsea.

Meanwhile, in the event that the Italian team fails to secure Zappercosta services, Darmain provides an alternative. Darmian will be out of contract next summer, and this means that Red Devils will either extend his deal and cash in on him in the nearest window.
