Report has it that the five time Ballon D’Or winner had Napoli as his next destination after making up his mind on leaving Real Madrid, but later ended up in Turin with Juventus as a plan B following Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis refusal of spending such mammoth amount on the 33-year-old.

The report stated that when the Portuguese forward opted to leave Madrid, he has his eyes sighted in Italy with intention of joining the Serie A runners-up.

With former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri’s easy flowing type of football which attracted the former Madrid forward as his former Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti replaced Sarri at the end of last season.

The news according to Football Italia also has it that Cristiano Ronaldo would have signed for Napoli had it been they came knocking, but rather opted out because of the cost.

This was revealed by the Napoli based reporter Carlo Alvino, who opened up that the Portuguese ace would have been wearing the Napoli blue jersey if only they met his €350m valuation.

Alvino explained, “Cristiano Ronaldo would be wearing the Napoli jersey today if the club had been able to spend €350m. Juve were Plan B for the Portuguese star. His Agent Jorge Mendes has a strong rapport with Napoli and President De Laurentiis. The agent offered him to Napoli, but as they wouldn’t pay that much, he turned to Juve instead”.

The Madrid all time highest goals scorer made his intention of leaving known to Madrid despite still having contract with a much release clause. And the European Champions listened to his offer and thank him for his dedicated 9 years of service.

The five time Ballon D’Or winner will be presented to the Juve fans on Monday, July 16 in the Allianz Stadium Italy.

Afterwards, he will proceed in meeting with his new teammates for their America pre-season tour where he could feature for the Old Lady against his former club Real Madrid next month.
