The Nigerian Football Federation have adopted the Ahmadu Bello stadium, Kaduna as the venue for the Super Eagles’ qualifying round of matches for the 2019 African Cup of Nations against Libya next month. The Nigerian team will visit Seychelles on the 7th of September, for her second match of the qualifying series before hosting Libya in the third game on October 10th.
It is important to note that the Super Eagles lost their opening game of the series 2-0 to South Africa in Uyo last year. Some NFF officials last week speculated that the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba will be used for the match but the body movement of the NFF and the Super Eagles boss have proved otherwise.
Top official of the federation and Genort Rohr were sighted inspecting Ahmadu Bello stadium, Kaduna and this proves to be indication that the football piece will be moved to the Northern part of the country.
The NFF in a statement yesterday revealed that Rohr by Friday will release his list of players for the qualifying match against Seychelles. Reports have emerged that Ola Aina who missed out of the 2018 World cup, will be included in the new squad. He and Musa Mohammed is expected to compete for full back position in the absence of the injured Tyrone Ebuehi and Shehu Abdullahi. The last time Mohammed feature for Nigerian team was in May when the B team played a friendly against Athletico Madrid.
