Nigerian Shot-stopper Okiemutah Odah is hoping to get a recall back to the super eagle’s team as a he relishes a chance to compete with Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper. The Nigerian international recently got a loan move to Saudi Arabia division 1 side, Jeddah FC after putting to an end his time Nigerian Premier League side Lobi Stars.

Odah was a member of the golden eaglet team that campaigned in the 2005 CAF U-17 African Youth Championship in Gambia. In his interview with the media from his base in Saudi Arabia, Odah said:“We have played four games so far this season and I have kept one clean sheet,” gushed the six foot custodian”. “We are in 4th position in the table, but we want to improve on that. We have a game coming up on Wednesday against Najran and a win, and possibly another clean sheet are the objectives,” Odah stressed”.

Talking about his chances of breaking into the Super Eagles, Odah who emulates Italian goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon stated: “If I get invitation from the super Eagles, glory be to God”. “But if i do not get it soon, I will continue to work, maybe my chance will come. I am not really worried about that at the moment,” Odah reiterated.

Super Eagle’s tactician Genort Rohr has always opted for Francis Uzoho, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi since his emergence as head coach of the Nigerian national team. Francis Uzoho, however seems to have caught the eyes of the German tactician as he is preferred as the first choice.
