Super Eagles coach Genort Rohr has revealed that he targets a victory in Johannesburg when the Bafana-Bafana team host the Super Eagles in the reverse fixture of the 2019 African Cup of Nation qualifying round of games.
While recalling how the Bafana-Bafana condemned him to his first defeat as Super Eagles coach, the German admit that the game at Johannesburg will be relatively difficult for the Nigerian team, but believes the Nigeria players have what it takes to grab results.
The Nigerian team are very close to qualification, as a win at Johannesburg will seal the deal for the Super Eagles. Nigeria who have missed the 2015 and 2017 edition of the continental showpiece could make a grand return next year if the grab a victory in South Africa next month.
Rohr further revealed that his team will work hard to ensure they make it to the showpiece. The German also added that he is ambitious of grabbing Nigeria’s fourth AFCON title when the tournament kicks off in June.
Rohr said: “We are working very hard to make sure that we get the necessary points in our next match in South Africa”. “We know that the match will not be easy but we are working well to make sure our players are in good conditions before the match”. “We want to make sure that we don’t lose the match just like what happened in our first match”. “We know that a good result in the match will put us at ease before the visit of Seychelles in our last match at home. We want to finish top of the group.”
