The World governing football body FIFA, have reportedly refused to honor invitation from Nigeria’s Sports minister Solomon Dalung. The global footballing body according to report, will only honour invitation concerning the installation and acceptance of Amaju Pinnick as the President of the Nigerian Football Federation.

The recent crises for the leadership position of the NF,F have lingered for a while with two factions laying claim to the position. The crises began after Supreme Court, the nation’s apex Court ruled in favor of Chris Giwa. The Federation international football association however recognized Amaju Pinnick as the President. The Buhari led federal government have shown commitment to FIFA by recently evacuating the Giwa Faction from the NFF glass house.

While the Government have sided with the World governing body over the matter, the Sports minister seems to have sided with the Giwa faction with recent action gearing at reconciling Chris Giwa and the World football governing body. It’s however noted that Giwa is currently placed on a 5-year ban dating from 10 January 2017 from taking part in any football related activity.

Those on Dalung’s proposed delegation to Zurich include; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Olusade Adesola, former NFA Chairmen, Ibrahim Galadima and Anthony Kodjo Williams, former NFF Secretary General Bolaji Ojo Oba, Amaju Pinnick, Mohammed Sanusi and Chris Giwa.
