Mohammed Salah increased his league tally to 22 goals in 26 appearances on Sunday evening as the Reds thumped Southampton 2-0 at the St. Mary’s Stadium. The 25-year old Egyptian has netted 29 times for Jurgen Klopp’s side all competitions this season since he arrived at the Merseyside last summer from Roma.
His achievement have attracted a lot of attention from the media with former Tottenham Hotspur star Garth Crooks placing the Egyptian in the same level as the Liverpool legends Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish and John Barnes. The ex-footballer does not see the Egyptian footballer halting his impressive form for the Anfield outfit.
“There is just no stopping Mo Salah at the moment,” Crooks informed BBC.
“He looks imperious in that Liverpool strip.“I’ve seen Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish and John Barnes generate extraordinary hysteria at Anfield and it looks like Salah is in that class.
“I’m not sure who is enjoying his performances more, the player or the Liverpool fans.”
Garth Crooks is not the only one praising the Egyptian as fellow African Didier Drogba have heaped praised Mohammed Salah. Drogba telling The Sun: “He has always been a good player. We all knew he had it in him.
The Ivorian admitted that Jurgen Kloop have been a big factor in the success of Salah as he believes that the Egyptian have been entrusted with more responsibility. He also believes the Egyptian tends to flourish with managers that entrust him with responsibility citing his exploits in the Egyptian nation team and his performance during his time at Italy. The Ivorian believes that Salah could become a potential captain at Anfield someday if continues to display his current leadership skills.
Salah will relishing to feast on Porto when Liverpool visit Portugal on Wednesday with the Egyptian hoping to continue improve on his current stats.
