Manchester United have not made an official announcement on who to succeed axed trainer Jose Mourinho, but club legend Solskjaer is believed to the Red Devils interim boss.
In the caption of a video, which was titled ‘The Most Famous Night of Ole’s Career’, it reads:”Solskjaer becomes our interim manager, 20 seasons after clinching the Treble with THAT goal at Camp Nou…”, though it was later deleted.
There were also several videos posted on the website remembering some of Solskjaer’s best moments in a United shirt, including the 1998/1999 UEFA Champions League winner in the finals against Bayern Munich.
Solskjaer current trained a Norway based football outfit Molde, which have finished their league action and will resume in March 2019. The Norwegians currently tops the list of trainers to manage the club following Mourinho’s exit.
Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg announced the news in her media handle.
She wrote: “Great day for Norwegian football. Good luck keeping control of the Red Devils, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.”
Solskjaer will begin his Manchester United managerial account with a trip to Cardiff city, a team was relegated under his watch back in 2014.
Michael Carrick will take care of first-team affairs before a manager is put in charge until the end of the season, while Mike Phelan, assistant manage to Ferguson for five years, is reportedly being installed in the role once more.
Meanwhile the Red Devils will continue their chase for Tottenham trainer Mauricio Pochetinno.
Solskajaer first and prime job is to reduce the point deficit between the Manchester club and fourth placed Chelsea which stands at 11.
