Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi according to media reports have been ruled out of contention for three weeks after suffering a muscle injury in Trabzonspor’s 2-1 triumph over rivals Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super League game last weekend.

The Super Eagles midfield enforcer starred throughout the duration of the contest only to diagnose of second degree of muscle injury in the right leg according to club’s doctor Hakan Bozdogan

“After the Fenerbahce match in the Super League, a physical examination was taken and it was discovered that Ogenyi Onazi sustained a second-degree muscle injury,”Bozdogan was quoted in a statement on the club’s official website.

“Ogenyi Onazi, who had a complaint of muscle pain in his right calf is expected to start working with the team within three weeks after the treatment is started.”

The 25yr old defensive midfielder will sit out when Trabzonspor take on Kayserispor, Sivan Belediyespor, Konyaspor and Besiktas in the Turkish league,

The player has not featured for the Super Eagles since Nigeria’s 3-0 triumph over Seychelles in the qualifying round of games for the 2019 African Cup of Nations, as he missed the Libyan two leg affair, the South African game and the Friendly game against Uganda.
