Jose Mourinho seems to be feeling the heat in Manchester United at the moment. The Manchester club under the Portuguese tactician have not performed well in all competition. The Red Devils have struggled to leave up to expectation in the current football season despite being in possession of quality players. The club is yet to grab a victory in four consecutive games in all competitions.
Manchester United currently languishes in 10th position after 7 round of matches in the English Premier League. In the continental games, the Manchester club looked clueless and out of touch in their recent dull draw with Valencia last Wednesday. In the Carabao cup, the Red Devils lost out to Championship side Derby County in the third round to suffer an early exit in the competition.
While the Manchester club fails to replicate on the pitch, off the pitch atmosphere has been at its highest peak with Jose Mourinho reportedly in a rift with a lot of players in the team. According to report the Portuguese tactician is yet to move on from his rift with France International Pogba. The Duo previously had a heated argument which eventually resulted in Pogba stripped of Vice-Captaincy role. Ever since the saga, both parties are yet to mend the broken bridges, with Pogba recently claiming that he was issued a ban by the club from media. While Pogba’s scenario continues to boil, other players have been identified in the bad book of the Portuguese tactician with Eric Bailey, Alexis Sanchez and Antonio Valencia all making the list. Eric Bailey since his below par performance against Brighton on Match-day two seems to be in limbo, and is reported to be furious with the former Chelsea manager. The Portuguese tactician has not made any official statement about the Sanchez, but his deliberate decision to leave the Chilean attacker out of the match-day squad that faced Valencia last Tuesday told the story, with many considering the below par performance of the former Arsenal attacker at West Ham as the sole reason. Anthony Valencia might not have problems with the tactician but the player seems to have given the Portuguese a vote of no confidence. The Ecuador footballer recently liked a post calling for the axing of the Portuguese trainer, though came out later to apologies for his action.
As Jose Mourinho’s internal fracas continues, media houses have heaped pressure on the club management to begin the search for a new with Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochetinno and Laurent Blanc all touted as possible successors to the former Real Madrid and Inter coach.
Despite the fact that Zidane called Mourinho to clear the air and the reluctant nature of Ed Woodward to begin the move for a new manager, The former Chelsea trainer knows that he needs to return to winning ways to at least calm the growing storm at Old Trafford before the international break.
Manchester United must defeat Newcastle on Saturday to ease pressure off the Portuguese coach. Newcastle however seems to be struggling as the Magpies lies in the drop zone. The Mapgpies currently have 2 points and are in dire need of a revival to avoid relegation battle. The Saturday game will certainly be a battle between two tacticians and old foes who are currently in search for splinter to rekindle their league season.
