Paul Pogba according to reports is “desperate” to play under the his idol Zinedine Zidane, amidst reports that Manchester United could turn to the former Real Madrid trainer to succeed Jose Mourinho at the Theatre of dreams, says Metro.

The 2018 World winner have had series of bad blood with club manager Jose Mourinho in the current league season and this have prompted the French international to seek move away from the Old Trafford. Reports have it that Pogba approached club Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward for a move away from the club in January transfer window with Barcelona as his likely destination.

Pogba want-away attitude could change if there is a change in the touchline. While the Red Devils claim that they haven’t discussed about axing Jose Mourinho, the notion of replacing the Portuguese continues to hang on the media screens for several weeks. Media reports have it that Zinedine Zidane have been touted to succeed Jose Mourinho at the Old Trafford.

Sun quotes a source which said that “Paul grew up with Zidane as his hero and would like to play for him at some stage in his career.”

Meanwhile, the midfielder have netted twice in the current season with both goals coming from the spot. The Frenchman was denied from the spot last weekend at Turff-Morr.
