Report has it that Real Madrid have identified Chelsea superman Eden Hazard as an outright replacement of their want away superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real Madrid have been eyeing the Belgium captain for some years now, and it emerged now that they want him to replace Cristano Ronaldo if he finally decides to leave the European Champions this summer.
According to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, as reported by the Daily Express, that the Portuguese superstar has been aware of Real Madrid interest to sign the Chelsea wizard in this transfer window.
Hazard is said to be interested in joining the 13-time European Champions, same news had it that he has called on the former Madrid manager who he sees as his idol Zinadane Zidane of his admiration to play for Madrid under him, before the French coach decided to quit Madrid earlier this month.
But it’s yet to be seen if the Los Blancos chief Florentino Perez will sign the Belgium international or go for his favourite forward Neymar from Paris Saint Germain to upgrade Real’s attacking options for their new manager Julen Lopetegui.
Chelsea are said to have been persuading Hazard to extend a new long-term contract, which will make him Chelsea highest earner with his current contract remaining two years to run. And the report said that Chelsea must act fast to tie him down with an improved offer nor sell him this summer or end up losing him for free.
Hazard was so outstanding for Chelsea last season which ended in disappointment where they lost out from the big four, but the 27-year-old saved them with a superb performance against Manchester United in the FA Cup finals, which Chelsea won to salvage a disappointing season.
Hazard has been at Stamford Bridge since 2013 and have two Premier League titles in four seasons as well as winning the EFL Cup, the FA Cup and the Europa League.
