Nigeria Professional football league sides Rivers United and Abia warriors have qualified for the last four of the south east/south south pre-season tournament.

Joining them in the semi-finals are the host team Cynosure team of Abakiliki, and Nationwide league one division new entrants, SKE of Port Harcourt.

However, another NPFL side Heartland FC of Owerri suffered a shock exit from the competition after playing three consecutive draws in the group stage.

The Naze warriors were held to stalemates when they played Abia Warriors, Ebonyi Professional FC and Cynosure FC in group B.

Cynosure FC despite losing to Abia Warriors in the second game of the group stage qualified for the last four as the Abakiliki based club showed determination in the game against Heartland.

Both sides had a fair share of attempts and chance but none could score the crucial goal needed in the fixture.

Hard fighting Patriots FC of Enugu lost to SKE of Port Harcourt in the second semi-final decider to ensure they crash out of the competition.

The semi-final matches is scheduled on Wednesday  at the Park Ngele Oruta stadium Abakaliki, Ebonyi State Capital.

Rivers United will take on Cynosure FC while Abia Warriors will battle with SKE FC for the second Final ticket.
