Riyad Mahrez have continued his face-off with Leicester football club after a failed deadline day move to Manchester city as the Algerian attacker have continued to boycott all training sessions with the foxes. The attacker is once again ruled out of their tie against the Manchester outfit this weekend. Guardiola made a desperate deadline bid for the Algerian in the region of £80m in valuation after Leroy Sane picked up an injury at Cardiff.
Leicester wanted player plus cash but Riydh Mahrez desired the move and even handed over his transfer request to the Leicester management, and so disappointed as the deal failed to materialize. This have made the Algerian to miss couple of trainings with the club. Mahrez had been back to his superb best for Leicester this season And now the Daily Mail claim he will remain away from training for the rest of the week and is set to miss a third match in a row. Ironically against the team he nearly joined last month.
Manager Claude Puel is already setting up his team without Mahrez in it, and he will play no part in the game even if he has a change of heart and returns to training sooner than expected. In total, Mahrez has been absent in four training sessions and two matches, with Leicester failing to win either of those games against Swansea City and Everton. It has been suggested that Leicester are very much concerned with Mahrez’s fragility after the failed January move that they have given the time off and will try to integrate him slowly back into the team.
Puel will have to bring out a game plan for playing Man City that does not include Mahrez. Mahrez has have been linked with moves away from King power stadium, though each time the club have blocked the moves, and feels as though this is the final straw. The Algerian had been in exceptional form for Leicester this season, scoring eight goals and laying on a further seven assists in 24 Premier League appearances, though would have only acted as a replacement option for injured Sane at Man City.
