Super Eagles head coach Genort Rohr has revealed his main aim for inviting Samuel Kalu to his Super Eagles team. The Bordeaux winger featured in Super eagles last two games and this brought speculations from the media.

Rohr however has revealed that the attacker was chosen because he had the quality to feel in the shoes left by Victor Moses. The shock retirement decision of the Chelsea attacker came as a surprise for the German tactician, but he decided to immediate introduce a fresh talent to ease pressure.

While stating the Kalu is yet to replicate the form and quality exhibited by the Moses in the Nigerian team, Rohr believes that the Bordeaux winger has what it takes to surpass the feats set by the Chelsea attacker.

Genort Rohr while understanding the psychological implications of his revelation, has pleaded that the Super Eagles faithful offer Kalu patience as he is bound to improve.

The Eagles’ gaffer added: “(Moses’ decision to retire) did come as a surprise, but we had to accept it.

“He wanted to focus more on his family and club. He is only 27 and it really was a bit surprising, but we have to live with it.

”We tried to find a replacement for him and found Kalu from Bordeaux, who has done well so far.”
