Head tactician of the Nigerian team Genort Rohr has hinted on why Premier League duo Solanke and Lookman have not graced the famous Nigerian jersey.
The German tactician, who has developed the reputation of drafting foreign based players to his team with Alex Iwobi, Ola Aitna, Odion Ighalo and Tyronne Ebuehi, revealed that the future of the duo lies with the English football team.
It is already a sealed deal that both players will feature for the three lions in the 2019 UEFA European U-21 Championship in June, around the same time the African Cup of Nations holds.
The Nigerian Football Federation have been trying to woo the forward to switch allegiance to the Nigerian team, but the exercise has yielded no positive result.
As for Hannover 96 winger, Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee, he would have been the favorite to replace the retired Victor Moses in the Super Eagles setup but injuries have not been kind to him.
In a talk with Sport Editors in Lagos, Rohr said: “Ademola Lookman and Solanke are not convinced. They have not made up their minds so we will allow then to decide”. “We will go back to them later, but we cannot force anybody to play for us. It is very important decisions for them to make. Noah Bazee is also on our radar”.
The Nigeria Football Federation have refused to give up in their chase for the Merseyside based players
