The tactician made this disclosure at the Peak Breakfast with Rohr show organized by the Sport Editors on the back of his successful AFCON qualifying round campaign which saw the Super Eagles make it to the continental showpiece after missing two consecutive edition of the event.
While in the show, the German tactician avoided make promises of winning the continental trophy in his statements.
The Coach maintained, “…it is the dream of every team at the competition to win the title, but it will not make much a sense to make a promise because other teams are also in the tournament to win.
“We have a good chance to get to the semi-final at the 2019 AFCON but we can’t be sure to win. It’s a young team, we should be realistic but once we reach the semi-final then winning the title is no longer far from us,” he continued.
The German also revealed his delight that Zambia failed to make it to the showpiece considering their experience and quality. He however hopes that the Super Eagles avoid host nation Cameroun in the draws.
Responding to questions regarding the absence of his captain from the qualifiers, Rohr said: The Coach maintained, “…it is the dream of every team at the competition to win the title, but it will not make much a sense to make a promise because other teams are also in the tournament to win.
