Cristiano Ronaldo despite his goal form was left out of Portuguese squad as Portugal head coach Fernando Santos released his list of players for the Euro Nation League games against Italy and Poland.

Ronaldo was initially left out the squad in September after the former Manchester United and Real Madrid player was yet to open his goal account for the Old Lady. The Portuguese international spent the whole of October denying allegation of rape by Kathryn Mayorga, as the US model alleged that he rape her in penthouse in the summer of 2009 prior to his departure to Real Madrid.

When asked about Ronaldo’s absence, Santos said: “The only thing I can say is that he deserves winning the Ballon d’Or. It would be a travesty if he didn’t win it”. “That’s all that matters now.”

The Portuguese team will take on Italy at Milan on the 17th of November why they host Poland three days later at Guimaraes.
