Ronaldo finally open his goal account for Juventus in their home game against Sassulo on Sunday. The Portuguese had to wait for 320 minutes before he scored what could be called the easiest career goal in his illustrious 17 years of professional football. The Portuguese however, scored the second to send a message to the media that he is ready for the UEFA Champions league which kicks off on Tuesday.
Reports have it that Juventus acquired the Portuguese playmaker from Spanish club Real Madrid for the sole purpose of the continental triumph, given that the Old Lady have dominated the domestic screens of the Italian top flight division for consecutive seasons.
Ronaldo who holds the record for the highest goal scorer in the European competition have reawaken the consciousness of Juventus supporters who seemed to be in despair earlier in the season. The supporters of the Turin-based club seemed confused and tensed about their continental aspiration when the former Real Madrid attacker failed to open his scoring in their opening league games before the international break, but they will be anticipating the start of the European Premier competition given the facts their goal machine is back to scoring form.
The Italian League will also be relying on the goal machine for the Champions League. This is to increase its number of slots available for Seria A teams in the Champions League. The league currently have 3 spots from its previous number of 4 spot, and will be hoping that 2015 and 2017 finalist Juventus can help the league reach the promise land with Portuguese playmaker under her ranks.
