Cristiano Ronaldo will make his continental debut for Juventus, when the Old lady visit La Maestella on Wednesday night to take on Spanish side Valencia. The Portuguese playmaker who joined the Turin based club from Spanish side Real Madrid prepares to justify the reason for his acquisition as Juventus began their lofty continental ambition.
Ronaldo’s season with the Old Lady have not been rosy as it took the Portuguese talisman a staggering 320 minutes to open his goal scoring account. Despite having to wait for such a time to register his first goal for the club, The Portuguese showed that he has recovered few minutes later by doubling his goal account for the Italian club in what is described as a typical Ronaldo magic.
Juventus are currently in the same group H with English side Manchester United, Swiss club Young Boys and Valencia. The Italian side who are tipped to lift the continental trophy, are expected to at least finish top of the group considering the Ronaldo factor. Ronaldo currently hold the record as the all-time highest goal scorer in the competition with 120 goals, and is expected to extend his goal tally in the European premier competition.
In the other news, Ronaldo’s arch rival Lionel Messi began his Champions league campaign of the 2018/2019 season with a blast as Barcelona trashed PSV Eindhoven 4-0 at the Camp Nou. The 31yr old Argentine attacker netted three times to be topping the goals standing chart. Ronaldo will expected to score to reunite their competition for the biggest prize in club football.
