Anticipation have been high at the Turin stadium since the arrival of the Cristiano Ronaldo, as Juventus faithful believes the Portuguese could be the player to gift the old lady the champions league trophy. The Juventus faithful seems to be of opinion that club will focus more of its energy on the continental trophy having secured the trophy’s all-time highest goal scorer from Real Madrid but Allegri have cleared the air on the assumption.

Ronaldo who joined the Italian club for a reported £88m from Real Madrid have lifted the accolade 5 times with 4 coming during his time at the Bernebeu.

The Juve boss in his recent interview have confirmed that the club despite the acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo will push for success in all competition including Uefa Champion’s league.  “Our objectives are always the same. “We want to win in all competition” Allegri told reporters.

He continued “Ronaldo is here to help us by contributing towards our objectives whether the Uefa Champion’s league or Seria A”. The Italian club which last lifted the prestigious accolade in 1996 is yet to win in three finals of the competition with Ronaldo scoring against them in the 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid  two years ago in Cardiff.

Juventus have maintained unbeaten in their pre-season games with 1-1 draw with Benfica on Saturday in New Jersey. Wojciech Szczesney shared duties with new arrival Mattia Perin as Juventus began the post Buffon era. Buffon made 20 years of history with the club before his summer departure to reigning League 1 champions Paris Saint German. Allegri praised the former Italy international on his move to the French capital while wishing him well.

The question remains whether Allegri and the Portuguese player will get it right to lift Uefa Champion’s league trophies for the Old lady.
