Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has backed Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo to open his 2018/2019 UEFA Champion’s league goal account when the Old Lady lurks horns with rivals Manchester United at the Turin stadium.
Ronaldo is yet to score in the current season of the UEFA Champions League with the straight Red card against Valencia on match day 1 forcing the Portuguese to miss the home game against Young Boys. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward returned to action when the Turin based club visited the theatre of dreams.
Juventus home against Manchester United will be Ronaldo’s first European home game in front of the Old Lady faithful, and Allegri knowing the expectation of the club supporters, has backed the alltime highest goal scorer in the competition to deliver on Wednesday night to ensure the club progresses to the round of 16.
“He will score [on Wednesday],” he said.
“He didn’t play the first match, he didn’t play the second, and he played only one match. And he provided an assist.
“I mean, it’s not like he played many Champions League matches so far.”
Meanwhile Juventus still holds their near perfect unbeaten run of form. The Old Lady have dropped form only once in the current football season.
