Former Juventus player Pavel Nedved have voiced out his opinion on the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin earlier in the summer. The Juve Vice-president responded that the acquisition of the Portuguese talisman have improved the status of the Turin based outfit on the continental stage.

Ronaldo who joined the reigning Seria A champions in a deal valued at £88 Million opened his goal scoring account for the Old Lady last weekend. It took the 33yr old just 10 minutes to score against the club’s youth team.

Discussing with the Juventus TV, Nedved said: “Juventus’ step forward among the big clubs in Europe has been confirmed further. “That we managed to bring Ronaldo to Juventus is something exceptional.

“It’ll give us a bit more for the future, as well as for all of Italian football.”

Juventus seems to be very busy in the summer with the Turin club landing Emre Can, Mattia Perin, Joao Cancelo and Leonardo Bonucci.

He also added “There’s been very little talk about Emre Can but this was an important move,” Nedved added. “He was wanted across Europe by many big clubs but we managed to sign him. He’s a player with a lot of substance to his game both tactically and technically. “He is a typical German player who knows how to distribute very well. You’ll see that he will be very important to the team.”
