Chelsea’s loan player, presents one of the biggest pool of untapped reserves in the English top division and in the European continent. The club became famous, with having more players on the loan than any top team in the continent with a record 23 players on loan back in 2015.
Chelsea’s recent appointment of Maurizio Sarri as manager, have brought Napoli’s midfield sensation Jorginho to bridge, with Juventus’s Rugani and Cska Moscow’s Golovin expected to follow suit.
The crucial question becomes, whether the former Napoli boss will give the loan players a chance or whether he will toe in the footsteps of his predecessors who seem to sign players with like philosophy rather than develop from the Academy.
In the past, the inability of the club in giving chances to loan players have result in the departure of several players with Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Ryan Betrand dominating the long list of stars the club have lost from loan deals.
Sarri’s current Chelsea team, boasts of talented players with Charlie Musonda, Kourt Zouma, Kenneth Omeruo, Ola Aina and Lucas Piazon who have spent virtually his club football career away from the parent club.
The recent acquisition of Jorginho by the manager was welcomed, but the same can’t be said for Rugani considering the quality of players at the clubs disposal. Kourt Zouma have proven himself in the past as a solid rock at the back before his injury and could fit in the role, likewise Tomas Kalas. Kenneth Omeruo provides experience as a worthy candidate considering his accomplishment.
The 2013 AFCON winner and participant of the 2 editions of the Fifa showpiece have proven himself to be adept to different tactical approaches. Charly Musonda and Lucas Piazon deserves a place in the team considering the performances on loan. Charly Musonda who was on loan with Celtic last season played a big role in the Celtics title triumph.
Lucas Piazon who arrived at Chelsea back in 2011, will be hoping to final make his make with the club. The 25yr old attacker, who is believed to have grown in the game will be trying to convince the manager why he should remain at the club.
Sarri will have to make the critical decision when the blues beginning their pre-season, with friendly match against Australian side Perth glory on the 23rd as on loan players compete among themselves for spot in the team ahead of the new premier league season.
