Chelsea FC are planning a whole of change this summer starting with their manager Antonio Conte, who is expected to vacate the Stamford Bridge hot seat despite lifting two trophies in his two season at the club. Former Napoli manager though still under contract with the Italian outfit Maurizio Sarri has been tipped as most likely candidate to replace the under fire Conte, also with the likes of big-name coaches like Laurent Blanc former Paris Saint Germain manager and Luis Enrique who also managed FC Barcelona.
What is really hindering Chelsea from sacking Antonio Conte and appointing Sarri rely on Napoli accepting the compensation fee from the English giants.Report has that Chelsea are confident in landing their choice target next Tuesday, and has already strike personal terms with Sarri’s representatives on a two-year deal. The Italian 59-year-old manager will pocket around £4m (€4.75m) a year at the West London club though the fee is half less than what Conte is earning.
And it is also believed that Napoli are willing to accept about the same £4m compensation for Sarri, who is still under their employment despite being replaced by Carlo Ancelotti last month as his successor.Information also has it that Sarri is set to raid the Italian side for the players he worked with at Napoli such as Kalidou Koulibaly, Piotr Zielinski and Elseid Hysaj as he has intention of shaking off Chelsea’s squad. All this may not work depending on the agreement with both clubs on the compensation fee.
According to Paul Merson, he said “I wouldn’t say Chelsea need a new manager because Antonio Conte is one of the best in the world but I do think he will leave and I just think it needs to be done sooner rather than later,” said Merson.
With time not on their side Chelsea need to get their transfer done quickly to avoid having same fate with Conte who is always furious with Chelsea’s board over player signing.
