Chelsea trainer Maurizio Sarri has ruled a January exit for Willian after speculations emerged that Barcelona’s bid for the Brazilian was rebuffed by Chelsea.

Reports emerged that the Catalonia based football outfit placed a cash plus Malcom offer for the Chelsea attacker last week, but the London club turned down the offer as they preferred keeping hold of the Brazilian.

Unsurprisingly Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was asked the question in the clubs press conference on Friday.

In an interview reported by Sky Sport, Sarri Said: “I didn’t receive anything yesterday. I have no idea”.

”You have to contact the club and ask about the market, because if you ask me about the market, you put me in trouble because I don’t know how to answer. As you know, Willian for us is very important.

”I think he can do better, he can do better because of his potential but he is really very important to us, so I think it is impossible to lose him in January.”

Though Barcelona are reportedly interested in Willian, the news seemed more like a rumour considering that Malcom arrived the Camp Nou last summer. Malcom however has lacked playtime at the Camp Nou.

Meanwhile Willian could depart Chelsea in the summer with the arrival of Pulisic as Chelsea pushes for younger attacking options.
